I think 175/70 would be a tad narrow, but may be OK....Have a look at the seats of the nuts...most are a 60degree taper, if so should be easy. GT6 M Posted October 29, 2014 Share Posted October 29, 2014 Compomotive ye mean, !!what type, and whats the off set.the rears will fit nee bother, but the fronts may well stick out a wee bit.and if this is so, then any thing over 185 / 60 /13 will touch arch ont front185 70 13 will deffo touch, so will 205 60, of no work is done to arches ont frunts.back will get 205 in ok, aboot max for a 6 inch rim.and if going 205, needs to be 2-3 ply side wall too., v hard to find on ordinary tyres,fit less, and car will squrm aboot ont rims185 60 13 track type tyres will be best betbut all depends on what ye after.175/70/13 may be ok, but deffo cant put 155s on, too wide for emM Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The tyres are fine on that rim width.I prefer not to go too wide on tyres and the 175 tyres are already marginal with Vitesse arches and ET13 wheel offset. You should have more room in the arches on a Mk3 GT6, though rear clearance will depend on whether its a rotoflex car (loads of room) or swing spring (less room outside due to wider track).Do you mean Compomotive or Cosmic btw?Nick Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Yippee !The following is written on the sidewall, in case it's illegible from the photo's. 6.00x13x24MM NEGI'm going to spray them silver, detail them with black then give them a coat of clear lacquer. Thety were OK but when I rebuilt a halfshaft a couple of years back it fouled on the wishbone trunion shroud plate. I dressed back the plate as a temporary fix but have now fitted the longer wheel studs and 10mm spacers which provides a sensible ammount of clearance (about 1/8 inch).Yes I know youd think 10mm spacers would provide 10mm of clearance but the clearance is at an angle...Picture below is without the spacers and the shroud dressed back. Will the following be okay, or will the be too long ?Wheel Studs - eBay item number:300741617651Wheel Nuts - eBay item number:290859400432The wheel nuts have a sleeve of 5/8" is that the diameter of the hole in the wheels ?Also when fitting bigger studs to the rear of a roto GT6 MK3, why is it required to file one side flat ? Rallyspit Posted January 3, 2015 Share Posted January 3, 2015 Don't know about the rotoflex GT6, but I fitted GT6 brakes front and rear on my swingspring spitfire with Ford "Group 4" studs all round with metric nuts and minilite wheels because on my first competitive event with a Spitfire I bent 7 Triumph studs and snapped one. The front studs require a flat to be filed for clearance issues and to remain square on to the hub face. The rear studs are best fitted by drilling a hole in the GT6 backplate and pushing the studs through. I didn't need to file a flat on the rears. They fit beautifully with escort wheel nuts which have the 60 degree seat. My studs stick out beyond the nuts when tightened, but that's hardly an issue provided you use the nuts without the chromed caps. A spot of Araldite on the stud splines is also a useful tip. Bought them from a great website called: http://www.part-box.com/I used part numbers SS36 (Studs) & SN41R (Nuts). Total cost of £37.63, which includes free next day delivery. I did have to phone up to find out the part numbers but the customer service was an honest 10/10 compared to a few other placed I phoned today.
