hispetdog
What were the original wheels fitted to the GT6 MK2?
Richard B
Rostyle wheel trim, I think 4.5"J x 13 plain wheels.
herald948
Right, specifically Dunlop wheels, with "LP875" stamped on the face of the hub.
Richard B
Knock on wire wheels was an optional extra, but not recommended for vigorous driving ??)
hispetdog
Where would I source the right wheels? Any pictures?I'll need to save up for those wire ones!
Paudman
The wheels were basically the same as GT6 Mk1 wheels, which were the same as Herald and Spitfire 4.5J wheels, but with Rostyle wheeltrims added. A set of 4.5J Herald wheels will do the job if you find any.
hispetdog
Thanks for that. Can you still buy the wheel trims?

Richard B
Try Spitfire Graveyard he may have some S/H ones.As Charlie says the oval hole ones were fitted to Spitfire MkIV / 1500 & GT6 MkIII. You want plain ones.
Fizzy
are these the ones needed ? obviously with trim not hubcap ?they cost me a fiver each from anglian triumph. 4.5j they came off a vitesse i think.
Richard B
I believe Vitesse MkII's had the same Rostyle wheel trims, so I would say yes.

Fizzy
ahh is that just a trim ? i should have looked a bit closer. in that case im not sure then. apologies. have you tried contacting one of the triumph breakers yet ? when i got mine there were loads kicking about, loose and still on 'parts cars'. Richard B
Be careful although similar I think there are three differant versions of the wheel trim. Stag, 2.5PI and Vitesse MkII & GT6 MkII. Stag has the valve hole further out than the 2.5PI, 2.5PI had 5.5"J x 13, whereas Vitesse & GT6 had 4.5"J x 13. Hence a differant offset.Vitesse MkII & GT6 MkII are the same.
