mickeywheelspin
Hi,I've just received my shiny new wheels but was wondering what size tyres to put on? The new ones are 13 x 5.5 but I can't take the sizes off the old ones as they're an odd assortment of wheel and tyre sizes thrown on to get the car home (it was bought as a non runner). It's a late Mk 3 spit and I'm trying to keep it fairly close to the original spec for now - I'll start playing with the setup once she's roadworthy. Thanks,Mike
CharlieB
Standard size would be 155/13. With the wider 5.5J wheels a popular upgrade (which I have on my 1500) is 175/70/13, these give the same rolling radius as standard so your speedo reads correctly.Other people have fitted 175/65/13 & even 185/60/13, these will alter your gearing slightly. Clive
Def 175/70 IMHO. Work a treat.
