Rear tyres on my 2000 mk2

Hi All...

Took my Triumph 2000 into ATS today to have all the wheels balanced.

Front ones ok now after some small weights added.

Both the rear tyres however are 'out of shape' or 'buckled' ? The rims where checked and they were fine.

Does anyone have any idea why this would be.. Is it because the car stands stationary for a few days at a time? The car is not my daily runaround, although I do make a point to have a run round at least once a week..

No one at ATS could give me a answer... but one guy said it could be my suspension???? Don't quite get that one...

Any clues....

Many Thanks

Nick

The 30 year old tyres which were on my 2000 when I got it would get flat spots if it was parked overnight.  This made the first hundred yards or so very bumpy indeed until they regained their correct shape.

Needless to say I binned the ancient tyres and got some new ones, problem solved...............

As Nick said.
Check the DOT code on the side of the tyre at the end of the code, there's a three or four number code sort of circled, it'll tell you it's age (week, year).

I tend to bin tyres over 6 years old; they're the only bit of the car in contact with the ground (normally).
