Chris_68
HiI am offered to buy a pair of new front springs for a MKII and wonder if I can fit this to my MKIV without it looking silly? When I check Moss/rimmer it is indicated that they are the same, before I asked here I am not fully convinced..CheersChris
Chris_68
HiIf I check with angloparts they list two different serials for MKII and MKIV, thats why I ask./Chris
CharlieB
There is a slight difference in length according to this site but not much in it & many suppliers probably supply the same springs. I would consider some stiffer springs to improve the handling, mine are 350lbs & don't give a harsh ride, others recommend 400 or 450lb springs.http://www.teglerizer.com/triumphstuff/springs.htm
Nick Moore
I fitted these 450lb/in springs, and they have improved the handling considerably. They're not harsh - quite supple, I thought - and combined with Koni shock absorbers, keep the wheels firmly on the road. Definitely recommended :)
Chris_68
HiThank you for your help.If I like to order a stiffer spring from MOSS, is TT4301 uprated version or TT40117 the best way to go? http://www.moss-europe.co.uk/Shop/ViewProducts.aspx?PlateIndexID=3113CheersChris

I believe the diameter is 2 1/2" (not 2 1/4") but I don't know the length for standard dampers. May be easier to talk to Moss/Canleys/Jigsaw.Edit: TT40117 are 210 lbs (not much more than standard)TT4301 are 330 lbs 7.25" longTT4302 are 330 lds 6.875" long (lowered)I would say 330 lbs would be minimum you want. If you go for the lowered springs you'll want to lower the back as well with a block from Canleys.
