john136070
According to the workshop manual the rear spring should be fitted with the "front" marker to the front but I can't find a marker anywhere. Any other ideas and why does it matter.ThanksJohn
Goody
I had the same question a while back. After painting the spring I did not notice a stamp that said front. On close inspection I found it. I had put it on right. When I asked the question here all the replys were that it did not make any differance and some were not marked. I also used the pictures of before I took it off to see how the clips were faceing.
john136070
Thanks for the reply. On my "before" photos it was difficult to see which the position of the clips/bolts but I think the nuts were facing forward. I put it back that way hope its right. Might not matter if the spring goes on either way!You must have a lot of space top have so many vehicles.ThanksJohn
heraldcoupe
As a rule of thumb, heads of bolts forwards, nuts towards the back of the car. That's how most Triumph mechanicals were assembled, though there were of course exceptions when there was good reason.Cheers,Bill.
