Mr Elsie
just taken a pic of one of my rotoflex couplings and I noticed there is a twist in it. Is this normal?
mikeyb
yes - that is the point of it - the twist will change as the suspension goes up and down and the wheel rotates.if you are not sure, jack the wheel up and down under the wishbone (having supported the chassis on axle stands) and have a look!what you don't want to see is any major separation between the segments
dimtavies
How much of a job is changing the bearings on the Rotoflex rears, are any special tools needed
mikeyb
that's not a job I have ever done - but I think maybe yes as I recall they need shimming up?
GT6 M
Its not too bad. if you got same bearings, then it may not want shimming at all.but need use or a biggg vice to hold it whilst ye work onitsome folk use a gap setting pre load, I find this awkward to say the least.not only that, but a bearing settles, so a wee gap can become a bigg gap = wheel / hub wobbleI tend to use the same method as setting a diff pinnion up, IE amount of effert it takes to move the hub. find this much easier, and never had a prob either.M
