Jason
Brake fluid absorbs water and that will rust stuff. If it were me doing it, I would renew ALL seals in ALL brake components. You've got single circuit brakes which means if ANY seal fails you have no brakes :-/If you decide to chance it, budget to do the job sometime soon, old seals will let go eventually. You can recondition your own calipers but be aware that new ones aren't actually that expensive these days - show around and don't assume recon is cheaper than new! Andy Marsh
Thanks Jason, had the wheels of on sunday and removed the pads, one bolt on the caliper seized and wont loosen, so need to sort it out. I am confused cant find any mention in the handbook about seals for the brakes. Where are they and how tricky are they to replace. Thanks
Richard B
You need a Workshop Manual, not a Handbook. The seals are inside the caliper next to the pistons. Stops the brake fluid 'peeing' out. :'(
