mowerman
Due to renewing all the brake hoses on my Vit I now need to bleed the system. Where is the best place to start, nearest the master cylinder or furthest away as I`ve heard conflicting advice ! Thanks, Steve.
Einar
The follwoing is according to the original Workshop manual: "Start with the front LH-side wheel and proceed in anti-clockwise sequence (right-hand steering)"
G.in_Lux
That's what I did, then someone said "you have to start with the wheel furthest from the cylinder"... As long as you pump quite a few times (while being careful to top up) you will replace all the fluid, so there should be no worries.

(I'll assume that would read right front wheel for a RH steering car.)
ferny
I'm sure my manuals say start with furthest from the master cylinder - which is what I've always done. For my right hand drive car that's rear off-sde, rear near-side, front near-side, front off-side. Deleted User
I was always told! nearest to the cylinder first and then more away! When I filled my system and worked 1. front right. 2. front left. 3. rear left. 4. Rear right. Not have any problems since.Rob

Nick Jones
I don't think it matters a damn. You usually have to go round more than once anyway ;)Nick
